| Black |
Black. The permanent colour. All other colours emanate from black. Indian philosophers described black as a symbol of God. Nothing is visible in black colour. So is God, about Whom nobody knows anything. But one is curious to find out what is hidden in this unknowingness. Thus, it atracts one's attention.
A wonderful example for this interesting aspect of black colour is "Navrang," a celluloid masterpiece produced by renowned director V Shantaram. He lost his eyesight, while fighting with a bull in his earlier film "Do Ankhein Baara Haath." He was later treated in America. But, during period of temporary blindness, Shantaram experienced some strange feelings. He could visualise thousands colours and images. Among those colours which disturbed his mind, he could remember only nine colours by the time he regained sight. And they transformed into "Navrang" film!
Black is a symbol of penance, meditation, concentration and determination. Sleep is essential for everyone, but it is not advisable to go to sleep when one has to be active and awake. So is black colour. It has to be used sparingly and with all cautiousness and balance. A thin eye-line will bring lot of charm to eyes and a small black spot will enhance the beauty of the face. This suggestion holds good even for interior decoration!
